International Security Studies (MISS)

"Security is a complex issue and one of the principal concerns of our time. The MISS program trains students in both traditional and non-traditional aspects of it."
Vít Střítecký
MISS coordinator

MISS responds to the pressing agendas of the current security environment and offers a complex guide through security, conflict, and strategic studies. The program respects the multidisciplinary dimension of contemporary security studies that face analytical challenges in traditional as well as non-traditional domains. Therefore, you will obtain theoretical and methodological training and will be able to address security issues ranging from conventional conflicts and wars to unconventional agendas associated with cyber or space realms.

You can choose one of four specializations: Peace and Conflict Studies, Strategic and War Studies, Global and Regional Security, Security and Technology, or select a General Security Studies track.

After completing this program, you will be proficient in recent security threats and risks, competent in analyzing and solving political and social problems connected with them, and in information processing, analyzing and conceptualizing. You will be ready for a career in international institutions, administration and foreign services, NGOs, media, education, academia, or you can proceed with postgraduate studies.

The program offers a double degree option in cooperation with the University of Konstanz in Germany. Applicants for the double degree program are selected after the first semester based on their study results,  and will recieve two Master diplomas.
