Economics and Finance (MEF)

"MEF will give you a thorough understanding of current theoretical and applied economics and finance and help you develop strong analytical skills."
Adam Geršl
MEF director

This programme aims to give you a thorough grounding in both theoretical and applied economics. We emphasize developing abstract analytical reasoning, which allows you to solve complex economic problems in various settings. Aside from compulsory courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics, you can choose from a wide range of elective courses. The courses are taught not only by academics but also external professionals from the central bank, commercial banks and business analysts.

As a MEF graduate, you can assume challenging positions in banking, consulting, investment funds and public administration worldwide. You can also continue your studies at a PhD level.

Admission Requirements

Aside from the general admission requirements, you need to have an excellent background in mathematics. Applicants with Bachelor degrees in economics, finance, business studies, mathematics, physics, or technical fields are especially welcomed. Prior knowledge of a Bachelor level economics or finance is an advantage, but it is not required.
