European Politics and Society (EPS)

"Live, Feel and Study Europe is the motto of the program and we really believe that it is the essential quality of it."
Eliška Tomalová
EPS director

Do you want to learn about Europe and experience European life? European Politics and Society does not only focus on Europe as a field of study but also provides you with the opportunity to live and study in four different European cities as follows:

  • you will spend the first semester at Charles University in Prague
  • in the second semester you will move either to Jagellonian University in Krakow or to Leiden University
  • in the third and fourth semester you can choose from four different study tracks in Prague, Krakow, Leiden or at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona.

Each track combines various elective courses, research methods training, an internship and language tuition with an advanced research dissertation supervised by key staff from each partner University. At the end of your studies, you will receive a joint diploma awarded by all four consortium universities.

The excellence of the programme is based on a central focus on the societal, political, economic and cultural processes that have formed contemporary Europe and its role in the international environment. You will learn about European politics, contemporary history and culture, economy, international relations and policymaking. You will be able to identify and analyze challenges Europe faces today, for example migration, security,  or populism.

By studying EPS, you will become a part of a real trans-European community of students, research leaders and policymakers able to deal with current European challenges.
