Study Social Sciences

Master in Area Studies (MAS)

"The added value of the program is its flexibility. You can build up your own curriculum focusing on the issues and regions you are most interested in."
Tomáš Weiss
MAS director

MAS offers you expert knowledge and analytical-synthetic skills focused on modern history and current developments in Europe, Eurasia, and North America. You can focus on either a single country or approach the whole region from a thematic angle, be it history, culture, political development or environmental issues. The program is very flexible, so you can either create your own curriculum to reflect your personal interest, or choose from one of the predefined study tracks focused on the US and global affairs, transition and integration in Europe or Israel and the Middle East.

Thanks to the transnational understanding of the regions and strong analytical skills, our graduates find their career in business, media, NGOs, state institutions or academia.

Admission Requirements

MAS is open to students who meet the general admission requirements and have completed a Bachelor or equivalent degree in social sciences, political sciences, international relations, history, or combinations of these programs with economics, law, cultural studies, languages etc.
